History of our Gipsy Polka Dot print:
Heritage of gypsy folklore, the archive drawing "Gipsy Polka Dots", composed of slightly irregular polka dots, evokes the gypsy tradition: Caravans, proud and feverish gypsies, dark and scoundrel gypsies, on the ruffles of the skirts of the dancing women, on the shirts men under their elegant vests playing virtuoso flamenco guitar, the polka dot print is a cultural landmark. This print was adopted in the Camargue through the Pilgrimage of the Saintes Maries de la Mer, which sees each year all the Gypsies of Europe carry out a procession leading the relics of the Saintes Maries and of Sara, the humble black servant patron of the gypsies , to the sea for a purifying blessing.
