MISTRAL by LES INDIENNES DE NIMES

MISTRAL by INDIENNES DE NIMES is the reference in traditional clothing craftsmanship, respecting the codes established by Marquis Folco de Baroncelli-Javon, Lou Marqués, patron of the Gardianne Nation.

Today MISTRAL by INDIENNES DE NIMES still dresses the perfect "choupo".

the jacket

A shiny black braid around the collar, the fronts, and the pockets trims this jacket, lined with red taffeta. Its velvet, known as Palatine or Amiens velvet, was chosen in a deep black and then cut close.

THE PANT

Made of cotton moleskin (mole skin) weighing over 400 grams per square meter, the pants are characterized by their extreme durability. The original color was hazelnut brown which, when burned by the sun and salt, turned gray, and almost white in the summer, now birch color.

THE SHIRT

The authentic gardian shirt, made by the Indiennes de Nîmes as in the old days. The fabrics, chosen from our 18th and 19th-century archives and registered in our name, recall the prints or polka dots that the lady of the house bought by the piece from the various peddlers who visited the mas.

Made of linen or cotton, these work shirts are worn loose for more comfortable movement. Since the gardians particularly like to roll up their sleeves to the elbow, even in summer, the collection consists exclusively of long-sleeved models.

THE VEST

The vest completes the chic guardian's outfit. It was traditionally reserved for festive days.

The CULOTTE Skirt

This model was particularly favored by the manadière Fanfonne Guillierme. This skirt, tight at the hips and gathered by four darts at the back, features a box pleat at the front and back.

The waist is well positioned and closed with a shaped belt.

THE SHEPHERD'S CLOAK

Made of black or navy wool, with a standing collar and a small capelet. Tradition held that it was worn for midnight mass at Christmas.

THE SUADOU

The suadou, also called a bandana, is a small square of cotton or silk, tied around the neck, which protected against cold and heat.
