History of our Calisson print:

The calisson (from the langue d'oc "calissoun") is a confectionery of Provencal cuisine, in the shape of a shuttle, made from fruit paste of candied melon and almonds crushed together, topped with royal icing, placed on a base of unleavened bread. Often flavored with orange blossom, this treat is one of the thirteen desserts of the Provençal tradition. The calisson design recalls this typically Provençal delicacy in the shape of a “chalice”.
